Dental Coverages, Why do PPO plan cost more yet seem to have more limitations
For the past few days now I have been shopping out dental insurance. I talked to my dentist to find out what dental insurance plans I should get and was told by the staffing that I would need to get a dental PPO plan that has outside network.
Okay they are easy enough to find on line, but what I am finding out is that they are costly with many limitations. Such as Waiting periods, Deductibles and Max limits. What is all that about? Are all PPOs like this?  If I do not want all these limits is there any insurance I can get?
I seen dental discount plans that look better the PPOs and cost much less but I am just not sure about getting a discount plan right now.

if you want to stay with your current dentist then plans like HMO or dental discount will not work for you. Both of these plan type require that you stay within their network of providers. There is no outside network.
So the very type dental insurance plan you need to get to keep your dentist are PPO and Insurance Indemnity plans. They both normally will have waiting periods, Max limits and deductibles or office co-pay.
You will need to decide just how important is staying with your dentist is to you.
